Kendall Winter
Kendall Hatch Winter joins the University of Kentucky from Dickinson College (Carlisle, PA) where she was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music. In her primary research area, Dr. Winter focuses broadly on music and voter engagement, and in particular on songs, performance, and enfranchisement efforts during the American women's suffrage movement, ca. the 1850s to 1920s. Secondarily, her interests lie in music history pedagogy and ludomusicology. Her publications have appeared in the Cambridge Opera Journal and Musicology Now. Taking a cue from the historical subjects of her research, Dr. Winter enthusiastically embraces service and engagement opportunities and holds a number of volunteer, elected, and appointed roles in academic, professional, and community organizations. She is a proud past recipient of the Chancellor’s Boka W. Hadzija Award for Distinguished University Service (UNC-Chapel Hill).
